像素展厅尝试利用最抽象的形式语言实现一个可以快速复制、生长的商品展览空间。我们从最简单的正方形平面出发,通过细分、垂直拉伸令其成为一个可以围合空间的立体结构,再通过不断地旋转和镜面复制,实现从单体到场域的转化。

这个形式系统的有趣之处在于——起伏的方片所形成的“地形”可以从正、反两面双向体验。在“地形”的内部,大大小小的方形水平导光板悬浮在空中,提供展品的照明,并营造出层次丰富的“溶洞”体验;在“地形”的外部,不同高度的方片如同一个个“小山包”,构成开放的休息和交流平台,为商品的展示提供另外一种可能性。

除此之外,像素展厅的形式逻辑还在建造方面得到了贯彻。每一个建造单元都可以通过抽拉的方式从立体形态转变回平面形态,极大得方便了整个项目的运输和搭建过程。

Pixel Pavilion is an experiment using the simplest form language to create a commercial exhibition space that can grow rapidly by multiplying itself. We started from an abstract square surface, and transformed it into a special structure unit. This unit can mirror and rotate itself, and develop into a continuous exhibition field.

One elegant feature of this system is that the “landscape” it constructs can be experienced from both inside and outside. Inside the “landscape”, the floating squares are made by LGP, lighting up the exhibits and rendering the whole space into a intriguing “Karst Cave”-like experience; While the exterior surface of the “landscape” can be used as a more outgoing public platform for both public communication and merchandise shows.

The formal logic of Pixel Pavilion is also carried through its construction design. Each construction unit can be compacted into a flat block for transportation and unfolds itself easily onsite for assembling.
